You may have heard the word “self work”  thrown around by all types of people, but not everyone knows the true steps to complete.

The first step is to have a vision of how you want your self to be once the work is completed. Focus on that future reality through different methods such as meditation, manifesting or mindful thinking.

Key Ways To Practice Self Work: 

Manifesting, also recognized as “the law of attraction” is using positive thoughts and energy to create your future reality. Speaking things into existence.

My experience meditating has definitely generated a better sense of awareness. Not just of self, but of the entire world around me. My vision is clear, my focus is set and I know exactly what my future self will look like. Staying still and focusing on your self within is a major key in self work. 

The way you think has everything to do with the person you are.  Affirmations are cool, but do you even believe what you’re saying? When something doesn’t go as planned are you ready to throw the day away? Mindful thinking prepares your mind for battle when self doubt starts creeping up. 

What ever you define as your future reality the end goal is always happiness. 

 

The Self Work Activity:

Be clear with yourself about what you want. 

Take some time to ask yourself what you want out of life. What brings you pure happiness? How will this change benefit your life? Visualize yourself living in this. How do you feel?

 

Take full advantage of changes and new opportunities.

It’s hard to understand why things change or why our life takes a sharp left turn out of no where. We cannot approach this change with negativity. Trust that everything happens for a reason and nothing happens by chance. Believe that all will fall into place as long as you continue to surround your yourself with positive energy.

 

Get consistent with prayer and affirmations.

Prayer and affirmations are your way to send positive energy into the universe. What you put out is what you get back. The thoughts you think and the words you speak hold heavy weight in your life.

 

Be true to self.

Spend time alone to find what makes you happy. It’s time to get a little selfish with your heart, your mind and your peace. Live by your own standards, dance to the beat of your own drum, and be unapologetic about the choices you make.

 

Reflect & Recognize. 

Throughout this journey of self work you have to keep track of every new level you reach. Document this to reflect on how you felt in the beginning and recognize how you are advancing in your life. What changed? Give yourself credit for your growth and show gratitude in the positive energy that surrounded you.
